[e2e] SYN_RCVD time out

Hi,

Sorry if the question is an FAQ. I'm wondering with the scenario of SYN
flood attacks whether the TCP server ever times out the SYN_RCVD state? I
looked at Steven's book, it seems to say that it times out after 75 sec
(for BSD).
But I'm not so sure if that 75 sec is really discarding the state or just
retransmission of SYN+ACK?

I tried to look at the BSD code, but it's not very apparent.

Any help is appreciated.
