[e2e] inter-backbone traffic patterns

Hi,

I've been trying to find out what proportion of Internet traffic
touches more than one backbone (or AS, since the definition of
"backbone" isn't precise).  I've looked in the usual places, but can't
seem to find relevant/recent statistics.  Can anyone point me toward
an answer?
