Joe Touch just helped me over my moment... the BBN development
was essentially a software-based implementation of DQDB or
IEEE 802.6.

Ten years is about the memory horizon of our field, so we are
destined to reinvent our ideas every 10 years.  A sad commentary
on the validity of Computer so-called Science.
