Call For Papers: Internet Measurement Conference 2005
	October 19-21 2005, New Orleans, Louisiana, USA

The 2005 Internet Measurement Conference (IMC 2005) is a two and one-half day 
event focusing on Internet measurement and analysis, following on the success 
of four previous IMCs (http://www.imconf.net). We welcome the submission of 
papers that contribute to our understanding of how to collect or analyze 
Internet measurements, or give insight into how the Internet behaves. 
More generally, measurement-based studies of IP-based networks and network 
technologies are of interest.

Examples of relevant topics include measurement-based studies of:

    * Network structure and topology
    * Traffic analysis
    * Traffic engineering
    * Inter-domain and intra-domain routing
    * Intra-domain IP-based networks such as enterprise networks and 
         campus networks
    * Network inference and anomaly detection
    * Network applications, including Web, multimedia streaming, and gaming
    * CDN, peer-to-peer, and overlay networks
    * Wireless LAN and WANs, and sensor networks as they relate to 
         TCP/IP protocols and applications
    * Network modeling
    * Network security threats and countermeasures
    * Data-centric issues, including anonymization, querying, and storage
    * Software tools and systems in support of network measurement
    * Reappraisal of previous measurement findings

Papers that do not in some fashion rely on measuring properties of IP networks 
are out of scope. Authors can contact the Program Co-Chairs at 
imc05chairs at usenix.org for clarification if they are unsure whether their 
paper is in scope.

Submission Guidelines
There are two forms of submissions:

   1. Full papers (up to 14 two-column pages) describing original research, 
      with succinctness appropriate to the topics and themes they discuss.
   2. Short papers (up to 6 two-column pages), conveying, for example, 
      work that is less mature but shows promise. Short papers will be subject 
      to a 6-page limit in the Proceedings.

Submissions must be in electronic form, as Postscript or PDF documents. 
The submission must conform to the page limits stated above, and the main text 
body must be written in a 10-point (or larger) serif font. All manuscripts 
must be in English. Submissions that do not comply with these requirements 
will not be read. Detailed submission instructions will be available 
in April 2005 at http://www.usenix.org/events/imc05/cfp

All full papers and short papers accepted for presentation will be published 
in the Conference Proceedings produced by USENIX. A few accepted papers may be
forwarded for fast-track submission to the IEEE/ACM Transactions on Networking.
