In the 1993 RED paper, equation #3 on page 13 gives you a way to calculate what the weight should be if you want to allow a burst of L packets to pass without dropping any packets.
Essentially, per the equation, you want to ensure the outcome is less than minth.
Which is great, but is there an alternate version of this equation if minth and L are bytes rather than packets?
