mobile ops are bellheads.  of course they are centralized and fragile.

you may want to look up how the dns protocols work and how they are
actually deployed.  

and do not confuse centraliztion at layer nine with centralization at
seven and below.  while the former is a problem, it's not an engineering
problem.
